“I prefer winter and Fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape–the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show. ”
As winter begins, SouthWind Art Gallery is showing some new paintings in our “Welcome to Winter” exhibit. Just as every snowflake is unique, so are each of the fine works by our Kansas artists. Join us this First Friday to see new works by top regional talents, including Wichita native Hugh Greer, gallery favorite Judith Mackey, realist painter and Topeka native Brian Slawson, master pastellist John Roush, esteemed Flint Hills painter Louis Copt, and the talented James Pringle Cook. Also new in the gallery is another original painting by revered Kansas artist and master landscape painter Robert Sudlow.
Zak Barnes, Kim Casebeer, James Pringle Cook, Louis Copt, Hugh Greer, Dana Hassett, Judith Mackey, Gary Ozias, John Roush, Deb Schroer, Brian Slawson, and Robert Sudlow.
Not all of our paintings in our “Welcome to Winter” show are chilly, we still have some wonderful pieces from our “Autumn Classics” show, so be prepared for a variety of landscapes to keep you warm this winter!
