Native Kansas artist Johne Richardson has explored outdoor subject matter ranging from the rocky shores of New England to the rugged red rock hills of the Southwest. He’s a prairie boy at heart, though, and always returns to his roots in painting where the earth meets the sky. Johne has been painting in watercolor for more than twenty-five years. In addition to his work being selected for the Arts for ghe Parks. Top 100 nationally touring exhibit, Johne’s work has been represented in the Kansas Watercolor Society’s annual exhibition and numerous local juried exhibitions. Several local and regional galleries have represented his work, and Johne’s paintings currently hang in the corporate headquarters of Applebee’s International. His work is represented in numerous private collections, including the retired CEO of Hallmark Cards, Inc. Johne attended the Unversity of Kansas and received a bachelor’s degree of fine arts in visual communication in 1983.
